What are JGM Competitions?

In July 2025, we proudly launched the first-ever JGM Competitions, an initiative created to bring education, excitement, and opportunity to the students of Jorge Guevara Mellado Elementary School in Santa Eulalia, Peru. As the namesake of our company, JGM Innovation has long supported the school’s mission by ensuring every child has access to meaningful learning. From donating physical education equipment for primary students, to providing a playcircuit for preschoolers, to equipping the computer lab with new technology, our ongoing contributions aim to strengthen the school’s educational resources. But through the JGM Competitions, previously known as JGM Games, we offered more than materials, we delivered experiences that sparked joy, built confidence, and inspired students to challenge themselves to become the very best version of who they can be. 

The students of Jorge Guevara Mellado Elementary School were treated to an exciting day of fun, competitions, and the chance to win a once‑in‑a‑lifetime trip to Lima with a parent. There, the winners will explore museums, play at amusement parks, and enjoy fine dining around the city. These experiences seek to enrich students' lives with unforgettable memories. Our goal is to nurture the unique talents of our students by rewarding them with educational opportunities and experiences that blend hard work, education, and fun. Every child has their own strengths, and every strength should be celebrated, and for that reason, we test a variety of skills, from academics to athletic ability.  

Game Day 

The first game tasked students to score a soccer goal by passing cones set up in the way, demonstrating their physical abilities. As students lined up and excitedly waited for their turn to shoot, the room buzzed with anticipation. Cheers and encouragement filled the air as the students celebrated every kick, win, and smile. What mattered wasn’t just winning, it was sharing the fun and being part of something exciting.   

Students who successfully scored a goal moved onto the next game: a knowledge test on communications and mathematics. Here, students displayed their intelligence and cognitive skills. The environment was completely different from the thrilling soccer game, but one thing remained unchanged: the unwavering dedication and determination of each student to succeed.  

By Game Three, only a small group of students remained to compete in the final timed obstacle course. Students raced to roll across fields, crawl under obstacles, swerve around poles, and carefully rolled a ball into a hula hoop. With every shout of encouragement from classmates and friends in the audience, we saw every student embrace the thrill of the moment. 

At last, three competitors emerged victorious! These talented students earned themselves a trip to Lima. Through their hard work and determination, these students achieved a life changing opportunity that brings education outside of the classroom and into the real world.  

Our Work Continues 

JGM Innovation is proud to support the bright futures of students at Jorge Guevara Mellado Elementary School. As preparations begin for the next round of JGM Competitions we are committed to expanding the initiative so more students can participate, grow, and dream even bigger. This April, JGM Competitions will be returning with a new round of games where students from the Jorge Guevara Mellado School compete against peers from the I.E. 20825 Tupac Amaru II School. We are so proud to expand our operations to support more students and schools in Peru. With your help, we can ensure that every student can experience an unforgettable day that inspires them to chase their dreams.
