• Name, email address, and any application materials (resume, portfolio, cover letter) when you apply for the Workforce Accelerator

• Name and email address when you subscribe to our newsletter or mailing list

• Testimonials or content you voluntarily submit for publication on our Stories page, if you choose to share one

 

Information collected automatically:

• Standard website usage data (pages visited, time on site, browser type, device type, approximate location based on IP address)

• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 6)

 

Information we do not collect through this website:

We do not collect identifying information about the students we serve in Peru through this website. Any data about program participants that we hold is collected and managed separately through our in-person program operations, not through jgminnovation.org.

 

3. Children's Privacy

JGM Innovation's mission centers on serving children and students, many of whom are minors. We take the following approach: This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through this website.

All public reporting about the students we serve, including on this website, in donor communications, and in reports to funders, uses aggregate numbers only (for example, how many students competed in a given year). We do not publish names, photos, or other identifying details about individual students without separate, explicit consent from the student's family.

If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us through this website without appropriate parental consent, please contact us at the email above and we will delete it.

 

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: 

• Process donations and issue tax-deductible receipts

• Communicate with donors, subscribers, and program applicants

• Evaluate applications for the Workforce Accelerator program

• Operate and improve this website

• Comply with legal and financial reporting obligations

• Share aggregate, non-identifying impact data with donors and funders (e.g., "50 students competed in April 2026")

• We do not sell personal information to third parties.

We use Google Ads tracking tools on this website, which may include measuring whether visitors who click our ads go on to donate, and may include showing our ads to past visitors as they browse other websites. This involves sharing certain information (such as your interaction with our ads and website) with Google for these purposes. 

 

5. How We Share Your Information

We share information only in the following circumstances:

Service providers: With companies that help us operate, such as our website platform (Wix), payment processing for donations (GiveButter), and email/newsletter tools. 

Legal requirements: If required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of JGM Innovation, our donors, or the public.

With your consent: For example, if you submit a testimonial for our Stories page and agree to have it published under your name.

We do not share personal information about program participants (students in Peru or interns in the US) beyond what is described above.

Regardless of where you are located, you have the right to: request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your information, withdraw consent at any time for anything based on consent, such as newsletter emails or non-essential cookies, opt out of marketing emails at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, and/or object to or ask us to restrict certain uses of your information

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Donation records are retained as required for tax and financial reporting purposes.  Newsletter subscriber information is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Workforce Accelerator application materials are retained for the cycle.

 

9. International Data Transfers

JGM Innovation operates in both the United States and Peru. Information collected through this website may be stored and processed in the United States. By using this website, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in a country different from your own, which may have different data protection laws than your home country. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to be protected consistent with this policy wherever it is processed.
